an article to be printed on translucent paper stock for the
universities in house magazine; ‘the case’. the
volkswagen beetle was chosen because of its inherent contradictions
in particular between good & evil, light & dark. the
front cover pays homage to the creative revolution in advertising
during the 1960’s. volkswagen, with their witty campaigns
by doyle dane bernbach were at the forefront of this revolution.
they obviously had real beetles at their disposal for advertising
purposes; i had to make do with a model. this made for
a slightly easier proposition when it came
to flipping the car over onto its roof, not
to mention cheaper. |
