bay
this series of images was taken at jackson’s bay, just
south of scarborough. all have been inspired by the photography
of the late brett weston. many of weston’s images are
barely recognisable for what they actually are, “weston
eliminated context in his pictures to invite abstraction.”
weston’s images have a high contrast & because of this
much of the surface texture of the elements within the pictures
are lost. my images are a study of shape, line & contour & have a graphical quality. they retain some texture & therefore
are not quite completely abstract. |
