>jackson's bay
this series of images was taken at jackson’s bay, just south of scarborough. all have been inspired by the photography of the late brett weston. many of weston’s images are barely recognisable for what they actually are, “weston eliminated context in his pictures to invite abstraction.” weston’s images have a high contrast & because of this much of the surface texture of the elements within the pictures are lost. my images are a study of shape, line & contour & have a graphical quality. they retain some texture & therefore are not quite completely abstract.
